UFC announces four grappling superfights for Fan Expo 2009 in Las Vegas

Bill Cooper, Ulysses Gomez, Jeff Glover, Vinicius Magalhaes, Fredson Paixao, Rumina Sato and Joe Stevenson will take part in grappling superfights as part of the weekend's Grapplers Quest tournament.

The UFC Fan Expo 2009, held in conjunction with UFC 100, takes place July 10 and 11 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

On Friday, July 10, "The Ultimate Fighter 8" cast member Magalhaes will meet an opponent yet to be determined. While Magalhaes has struggled recently in MMA contests, "Pezao" is an eight-time medalist at the Brazilian jiu-jitsu world championships.

That day's main event will see Gomez, a four-time Palace Fighting Championship veteran and multiple-time grappling champion, meet Shooto legend and 40-fight MMA veteran Sato.

On Saturday, WEC contender and four-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Paixao meets 22-time Grapplers Quest champion Glover.

Additionally, UFC lightweight contender Stevenson, who recently defeated Nate Diaz on the main card of June's The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, meets Cooper, a 22-year-old jiu-jitsu black belt that has earned 24 Grapplers Quest titles.

The grappling superfights are just one of several activities – including autograph opportunities, training sessions and product demonstrations – available during the fan expo.

akebono no, ma l'ho sempre visto piuttosto appannato, è decisamente più tirato ma per mè ha aumentato la massa muscolare pe far fronte alla potenza di lesnar.

Onestamente a me sembra che abbia gli stessi volumi, ma con una definizione decisamente superiore. In sostanza ha sostituito un po di ciccia in eccesso con diversa massa magra. Gran fisico per quel che si è visto!

UFC and Maxim to crown new ring girl at UFC Fan Expo 2009 in Las Vegas

The UFC today announced it will name a winner in the first-ever Maxim UFC Octagon Girl contest on the expo's second day.

The UFC Fan Expo 2009, held in conjunction with UFC 100, takes place July 10 and 11 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Held in association with Maxim magazine, the largest young men's lifestyle magazine in the U.S., the Octagon Girl Search will hold a live voting session on Saturday, July 11, at Bayside Hall B of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. As-yet-unnamed UFC fighters and Maxim editors will select the winner of the search in a runway-style pageant.

The winning model will receive a UFC Octagon Girl contract, joining current Octagon Girls Arianny Celeste, Edith Labelle and Logan Stanton, and be featured in both Maxim magazine and Maxim.com.

All interested participants, who must be at least 18 years old, are required to pre-register at Maxim.com.

"UFC's Ultimate 100: Greatest Fights" weeklong series debuts Sunday on Spike TV

As a reminder, Spike TV's weeklong series "UFC's Ultimate 100: Greatest Fights" debuts tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the first of a five-part series.

Parts two, three and four air Monday through Wednesday, and the series finale and final 20 fights will be shown on Saturday prior to the pay-per-view airing of UFC 100 live from Las Vegas.

As part of the special, fans were able to select from nearly 200 of the top fights in the UFC's 16-year history, including bouts from traditional pay-per-view events, the UFC Fight Night event series, and past editions of The Ultimate Finale.

Ho scoperto questo magnifico sport da meno di un mese, ma ho recuperato, mi sono visto gli ultimi 20 ufc in 15 giorni...

Tornando it, perchè i bookmakers danno mir per sfavorito??
A me non sembra tanto inferiore, lesnar è solo potente, mir è veloce, estremamente molto più tecnico e per quel che ho visto la potenza non è tutto!


Beato chi va a las vegas, ci sono stato l'anno scorso a maggio, mai visto niente di più spettacolare, carismatico e attraente. Mi manca!

Eh, non lo sapevo!
Cmq come dicevo è da pochissimo tempo che seguo l'ufc (meno di un mese!) e l'anno scorso ci sono andato per girare tutta la california, utah, arizona e nevada, non per vedere qualche incontro...

per quanto riguarda mir ci soo millew preri discordanti, lesnar per l'appunto è piu potente , interessi, pubblicità.....
